Facilitator Feedback

I have listened to many outstanding speakers in my career and I can honestly say that your presentation was the most powerful one I have ever experienced.”

I have been teaching for 32 years.  In my long history of teaching and of listening to many, many guest speakers over the years, I can safely say that your presentation was, without a doubt, the best presentation I have ever listened to in my career in education.”

The comments from our staff and that of the elementary staff have been very positive.  Many have said that it was the best presentation that they have seen as a teacher or student.  The fact that your presentation is still being mentioned in casual conversation and in messages relating to bullying is a huge testament to the impact you have had on the staff and students.  Many very good messages and presentations are often shelved shortly after the event, yours has not.”

… your presentation has been the most meaningful and memorable presentation I have experienced in my seventeen years plus of teaching.”

I was truly inspired and completely touched by your presentation.  I know you touched many students (and staff) today.  You are an inspiration to other students.  You have a gift!  I was honoured to listen to you.  Thank you again and keep speaking until all schools have heard your message!  You make a difference in the world!”

Many different speakers have been coming recently to give us the message of ending bullying, but I must say, none hit me as hard as your story did.”

Thank you so much for coming to speak yesterday.  Many students and staff have said it was the best assembly they have been to at our school….EVER!  Your passion about this issue and the honesty with which it was presented is truly inspirational.”

I spoke to a few of my students in class today and asked them how they felt about your talk.  Oh my goodness…the conversation flowed…we didn’t get much classwork done.  A number of them that emailed or tweeted last night said to me this morning that they couldn’t believe you answered them back.  They felt as though you knew them and it meant the world.”

Your presentation stands out from others for a number of reasons; it is your story and it is personal.  I have not heard a presenter who touched students to the point that they felt they wanted to email the presenter following the presentation but I understand many students emailed you.  Our Principals and Counsellors report that there were many conversations with students in the days following your presentation.”

You have a unique way of delivering the information with sentiments and a strong presence.  You became the story teller and instead of speaking to the class, you spoke to each student individually.  The passion and the care you have for the topic was really apparent in your speech.  The surprise elements really adds to the presentation.  I have had many presenters during my years of teaching Planning 10 and yours ranks up there with being one of the best.”

I have been teaching high school for eighteen years now and I have never experienced a more meaningful presentation.”

Tad’s presentation was so powerful.  The students and staff were emotionally engaged during the entire hour and we were definately changed as a result of what he shared.”

In 18 years of teaching, that was the most powerful presentation I have ever seen.  It changed my students and it changed me.  It takes courage and strength to share such emotional and personal stories and we all appreciate his time and message.”

Your presentation is raw, honest, and compelling.  Your message is very clear and I know the kids hear it.  I know your presentation is saving lives.”

I was really moved by your presentation.  I have sat through many anti bullying presentations and none of them have hit me such as yours did.”

Just wanted to thank you again for sharing your story with the students and myself today.  When I got back to our room with my class I told them that in 30 years of teaching yours was the most powerful and meaningful assembly that I have ever been a part of.”

Personally, I thought that your presentation was excellent and that the students in the class were totally engaged in what you had to say.  In my 21 years as a teacher, I’ve had many guest speakers in my classes, and your presentation was one of the best I’ve ever had.”

Our students had terrific responses to your presentations and I have heard from staff how much they appreciated your talk.  It was so heart-felt, honest and direct that I could sense how you were reaching our students.  It is not often that we get this type of response, so I would certainly recommend this to all schools.”

What an incredible presentation and story, both your own and the one you tell of Jamie.  You sat there, with no props, just your voice and had us captivated for an entire hour.  Remarkable. And I meant what I said about it being one of the better presentations I have ever seen….not only on a professional level with bullying was it powerful, but also on a personal level, you were able to connect with every single person in that room and left an impression with them that was still there, long after you had left.”

My class loved the presentation and I definately want you back in (MODERATED).  Yours has been the best presentation on bullying that I’ve ever seen not just because of your own personal experiences, that helps, but because you have a gift.  Straight forwardly telling them they are responsible for their own behavior seemed to resonate with them coming from you instead of us.”

Tad, thank you very much for all that you have done and are doing.  I have been teaching a long, long time and I have never seen my students so moved and touched by what you had to say.  Too often the Youth are ‘told’ what to do.  You came in and spoke to them like human beings, you give them strength and encouraged them to be the very best that they can be.  You had everyone captivated by your every word and you have truly left a lasting legacy within our school and on each person, including the adults.  Please never stop doing what you are doing.  By far, the best presentation that I have ever seen!!!  The Youth look up to you and what you are doing.”

Youth Feedback

“…..the important part is I wouldn’t have been able to get here if not for you.  I think it’s safe to say you have saved my life.  If you hadn’t reached out my mom could have been paying my funeral expenses right now.  You saved me.  It’s all because you decided to reach out and help others.  You’re doing a great thing Tad.  I can honestly say you deserve everything good.  I hope you can understand at this immense thing you have done for me.  Just by responding to my message.  Please keep doing what you are doing.  If you could save my life I can only dream of how many you could save.  Thanks Tad you truly are one of canada’s heros!”

And please know that you are not alone.  I will pray for you, and I know I’m going to fight hard to take action and make change in others.”

he stopped thinking about killing himself after he heard you speak at the school….he now believes he has a chance to turn out to be a good person as well so there is no need to die.”

I just wanted to say Thank you!  You helped me overcome depression, and suicidal thoughts!  My grades are up and I’ve made so many new friends by just putting myself out there.  Thank you”

I came home and looked at myself in my mirror today and asked myself if I was the best person I could possibly be.  I tried and I know I could do better, but I’ll change slowly.  Thank you for embedding that into my mind.”

I have sat through many presentations through the past few years, but I dont think any of them have impacted me to the same extent as yours.”

I am emailing you because of what you presented to my class has motivated me to become a better person.  Over the last five days i have become a better person what i have done is i have helped people i dont even know i helped them work on their snowboards becaused they messed something up i have helped my sister carrying grociries from the car to our house she is pregnant with twins.  so as it may have occured to you that your presentation is putting helping :).”

Ever since you presented at (MODERATED) I’ve gone home and looked in the mirror and asked myself if I was the best person I could be.  It’s always no, just like you said.  I think that I’ve become a better person though and I hope that I can make a difference.”

I truly do look up to police officers like you, you guys truly are my heroes.  Anyways back to what I was going to say, you were seriously an inspiration.  I went home that day and seriously re thought everything i say to kids and people and how judgemental i am….you made me really go home and look in the mirror and I woke up a little, i got my teachers and friends and parents that tell me like 20 times a day saying i changed.  I hope i did change for the good, thanks to you.  You are the what people need in life is a hero, you made me cry and everything for the good as well.  Thanks so much, I can’t get over how much this is going to affect you in the future youre going to be everyones hero in the end.  Youre a miracle thanks so much.”

this is why right now I am making two promises, One to myself and one to you, I promise to you and myself that, I will do all I can possibly do to protect the people around me from bullying, I will do everything I can possibly do to make a difference to put an end to it at my school.”

You opened my eyes to how people feel when they are being bullied, I had never thought about it that way until you told yours and Jamie’s stories.  The Michael Jackson quote also hit me hard and I suddenly realized the things I have to and will change in my life to do the most that I can make the world a better place.”

I will ddefinately be standing up for more people i see getting bullied, thank you for making me realise how much it means to one person to even have one person stand up for them and know that people do care about them and they are not alone.”

I believe now that many people will keep a good look out for bullying and will step in.  I certainly know I will.”

One of the most inspiring presentations I have ever witnessed.  Great job, keep doing what your doing.  I know as of today I will try my very hardest everyday to not bully anyone.”

…now I look out for everyone by telling the bullys to back off n stop it dont always work but i try n i just wanted to say u rock…”

…it was one of the best ones i have bin to since the beginning of high school.  after the presentation i thought about what you said if we we want to change, we have to change ourselves and i agree with it.”

Yours and Jamie’s story really inspired me to be a better person and prevent bullying.”

it was really one of the most relevant and attention grabbing presentations I’ve had at school.  They way you talk to us students was amazing and I think it hit home for a lot of us.”

I thought I was the only one who actually understood how that feels, but now I know I’m not.  And it makes things so much better for me, just to know that.”

The things you said truly inspired me to be a better person and I appreciate that more than you will ever know.  I have the greatest amount of respect for you and what you’re doing and I hope this continues for years to come.  You are such an amazing role model, thank you for impacting my life the way you did.”

It really inspired me and made me reflect on my life, and think of how people toss around words like nothing but they could really mean so much.”

Thank you for everything you do!  Your speech inspired me to do be more conscious of my decisions I make as an individual and reminded me to be careful I don’t jump on the bandwagon and get caught up in the great scheme of things.”

Today I made a promise to myself that I will never willingly cause another person pain or, more importantly, disrespect another human being.  That is a promise I make to myself and to you.  As you said when you walked in the room, “as of now you are all my friends”, and friends stick together.  If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make the change.  I know today I was not the best me I could have been, but this means that I will always improve on the way I treat others and myself.”

Your presentation saved my life.  You may think that you were just talking but you made me see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Without your presentation I would have tried to end myself”

Tad, you came to my class and shared your own personal story.  Because of that, you gave me the strength to come forward and ask for help.  I am afraid to think of how close I came to killing myself if not for you.  I would always cut myself to take way my pain and was still having some very bad thoughts.  You have showed me that dreams can be achieved, that you can be anyone that you want to be and also that I am not alone in the way that I think.  Your story helped me see that I needed help and you got me that help.  Things are much better now because of you.  Tad, you saved my life!”

I never thought your stories would touch me the way they did, absolutely amazing!  I’ve been thinking about it all day and it gave me so much motivation to go after my dreams.  Your story was amazing and you’re such a  strong man, you’re my idol.  Seeing how many people were crying really made me realize some of these people could actually be going through things that you went through or Jamie went through.  It opened my eyes and I look at everything so much differently thanks to you.”

I just wanted to let you know how much you made me think with your presentation.  I’m an openly gay (MODERATED), so the fact that your stories related to that hit home.  I cried.  I have hope now that things will get better.  You are my inspiration and the person who is heling me see the light at the end of my tunnel.”

Thank you for coming to our school and giving you presentation.  I know for a lot of kids that means alot.  it does to me to.  I have never been bullied or bullied.  But it is nice to know how people who are being bullied really feel.  I will definately be standing up for more people I see getting bullied.  Thank you for making me realize how much it menas to one person to even have one person stand up for them and know that people do care about them and they are not alone.”

I just wanted to say WOW.  Your presentation was amazing and I just wanted to let you know you made a huge impact on my class today. “

The Michael Jackson quote also hit me very hard and I suddenly realized the things I have to and will change in my life to do the most that I can to make the world a better place.”

My daughter attended your presentation and I’m amazed at how your story has inspired her.  She was really touched.”

Wow, those are the only words I am able to use to describe your presentation.  It was truly remarkable and eye opening.”

You just gave your presentation and I wanted to tell you that it was the most touching presentation I’ve ever heard.  I think that what you are doing is amazing.  I know that you helped a few people in the room, probably without even realizing it.”

Thank you so much for coming into my class!  You’re presentation was truly inspirational and life changing…the way you communicated to us and spoke about your story and others really had an effect on me.  I think a lot of people will change their way of living for the better all because of your story.”

Your speech inspired me to be more conscious of my decisions I make as an individual and reminded me to be careful I don’t jump on the bandwagon and get caught up in the great scheme of things.  I just wanted to say you are my role model and I gained much respect for you today.”

Hearing your story has inspired me to be more friendly and just stick up for anyone, and just be that someone a person might need.  It has taken me a couple of years to gather courage to even lift my head up as I’m passing a citizen of my neighbourhood to just say a simple “Hello”, or to others “how are you?'”

It was very inspiring and it was great to get to have you.  I usually don’t share the experiences I’ve had with people who liked to bother me a lot, but hearing what you had to say made me feel less alone.  Thank you for everything!”

The things you said truly inspired me to be a better person and I appreciate that more than you will ever know.  I have the greatest amount of respect for you and what you’re doing and I hope this continues for years to come, thank you for impacting my life the way you did.”

Already I have seen a change in the students around the school and surely there is still a long way to go but it’s encouraging to see the difference one person has had.”
